ENTRY REQUIREMENT
General Admission Requirement for Malaysian Students
A Diploma in a related area with a CGPA of 3.0 or above, OR |
OR |
A pass in the IIUM Centre for Foundation Studies’ final examination with a CGPA of 2.5 and fulfillment of all other requirements for promotion to the first year of the undergraduate degree programme; andA credit in Bahasa Melayu / Bahasa Malaysia or equivalent A credit in “Pendidikan Islam”/”Tasawwur Islam”/”Pendidikan Al-Quran and As-Sunnah”/”Pendidikan Syariah Islamiah” at the SPM level or equivalent |

At least three (3) principal passes (including Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry) in the General Certificate of Education ‘Advanced Level’ (GCE) ‘A’ Level Examination (UK Educational System), ORInternational Baccalaureate (IB) with a minimum of six (6) subjects (including Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry), OR Any other qualification that is recognized by the Senate of the University as equivalent to the above |

International Qualifications
The general academic requirements for admission into undergraduate degree programmes of IIUM are:
- At least three (3) principal passes (minimum grade D) in the General Certificate of Education ‘Advanced Level’ (GCE) ‘A’ Level Examination (UK Educational System) obtained in one sitting; OR
- Any other qualifications that are recognized by the Senate of the University as equivalent to the above
Other Requirements
If deemed necessary, applicants may also be required to attend an interview and/or take an entrance test conducted by the University.Applicants should note that normally there are more applications than places available at the University. The fulfillment of the minimum entrance requirements alone does not guarantee admission into the University.
Language Requirements
English and Arabic are the two primary languages used for instruction in the University, depending on the specific programme of study.
Applicants wishing to pursue their studies in programmes with English as medium of instruction must present a score of 550 in the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or Band 6.0 the International English Language Testing Service (IELTS) (Academic) with a minimum Band of 5.5 for each of the Skills – Writing, Reading, Listening/ Speaking (WRLS).
It is compulsory for those who apply for Bachelor of English Language and Literature to obtain Band 6.5 the International English Language Testing Service (IELTS) (Academic) with a minimum Band of 6.0 for each of the Skills – Writing, Reading, Listening and Speaking (WRLS).
Alternatively, they may sit for the IIUM-administered English Placement Test (EPT) and obtain a minimum of 6.0 points with a minimum Band of 5.5 for each skill – Writing, Reading, Listening and Speaking to fulfill the English language requirement.
Applicants interested in programmes with Arabic as a medium of instruction must achieve an exemption after sitting for the IIUM-administered Arabic Placement Test (APT).
