Membership
1.1
Membership is open to all SEGi University Kota Damansara (SUKD)/SEGi College Kota Damansara (SCKD) staff and registered students.
1.2
However staff need to apply for membership in person during opening hours. The membership form is available at the Library. To apply, staff must show proof of employment either with a staff tag or letter of employment.
1.3
Membership is not transferable.
1.4
Membership for students is considered terminated once the withdrawal form has been stamped and verified.
1.5
Membership for staff is considered terminated once the Exit form has been stamped and verified.

Reference materials (Green Spot Sticker), bound journals, magazines and newspapers are non-circulation items.
* Note :-

  • Part-time academic staff MUST bring along an authorization letter signed by the respective Dean/Head of Faculty/School/Centre on every loan visit.
  • Part-time academic staff must clear their Exit form with the Library before GPM could release their last pay-cheque when they are no longer engaged as part-time academic staff.
2.1
Patrons must produce their staff tag or student ID for book loan transactions.
2.2
Patrons are allowed to renew all items they borrowed for one time only, provided there is no reservation made under that particular title and the patron does not have fines or other overdue books. Renewals can be made via e-mail, phone call, online (http://library.segi.edu.my:8080) or directly at the Circulation Counter during opening hours. Refer to the contact details below for email and phone renewal requests:

Request for renewal via email will only be processed if the email is received during the following hours:

SUKD Patron:
Monday to Friday: before 8.00pm
Saturday and Sunday: before 3.30pm

SCKD Patron:
Monday to Friday: before 5.00pm

Otherwise it will be processed the working day.
No renewals will be done on Public Holidays or when the Library is closed.

3.
Reservation
3.1 Reservation of books that are checked-out can be done at the Circulation Counter during opening hours
3.2 Reserved books shall be kept for three (3) days before it is shelved or given to a next borrower, if any.
4.
Fines & Penalty
4.1 A fine will be imposed for late returns. The penalty is shown on the borrowing privilege table above.
4.2 Patrons will have their borrowing privilege suspended if they have outstanding fines or overdue items under their account.
4.3 All patrons are responsible for the loaned books that are checked-out under their names and will be penalized for lost or damaged books.
4.4 The penalty for a lost book is:

- To replace the book with a new book plus a charge of RM5 processing fee, or
- To pay double the price* of the book plus a charge of RM5 processing fee.

* Note: If the price of the book is not available, the price of a book of similar title will be referred.

4.5 Patrons who had reported lost books must still pay the fines incurred if any.
4.6 A fine will be imposed if a book is returned in a damaged condition, eg. soiled, torn, stained, defaced, etc. The amount of fine to be charged will be at the discretion of the Chief Librarian (CL) or authorized librarian during CL absence.
5.
System Interruption
There will be no loan transactions or any other services related to the Library System during system interruptions and SUKD/SCKD is not liable in any manner whatsoever for such interruptions or inconvenience.
6.
Email Notification
Email notifications for Advance item due notice, Item due notice or Overdue notice is a courtesy service and may not be available due to system failure, server hardware failure, power outages or any other unforeseen reasons. All patrons are to keep track of due dates of their loans. Failure to receive email notifications from our Library System is not a valid reason to waive overdue item fines.
