Latihan Industri Di Universiti Malaysia Kelantan, “Latihan Industri Di Universiti Malaysia Kelantan” means “Industrial Training At Universiti Malaysia Kelantan”. As many as 3,600 local children will undergo an industrial training program focusing on the work requirements in the construction of the East Coast Railways (ERCL) mega project especially in rail and rail construction. The Malaysian Industrial Development Program (CCCC), the main contractor of the ECRL project and Malaysia Rail Link Sendirian Berhad (MRL), a subsidiary of the Finance Minister Incorporated as the project owner, is fully funded as a corporate responsibility initiative (CSR).
The Prime Minister, YAB Dato ‘Seri Mohd Najib Tun Abdul Razak said this training program signaled that this project would bring great benefits to Malaysians as well as fostering Malaysia-China bilateral ties through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between MRL, CCCC and Public Institutions of Study (IPTA) in this country. He said a total of 3,600 students will undergo industrial training with the ECRL project and will be further absorbed in the ECRL project. “By providing this training opportunity, one of the important components is job opportunity to be reality. When these kids are trained in the training, we can absorb the field directly, “he said when officiating the ECRL Project Industrial Training at the Ministry of Finance, Putrajaya, on June 14, 2017. Dato ‘Seri Mohd Najib also witnessed the exchange of 13 agreement memorandum of understanding involving the cooperation between MRL Sdn Bhd’s Chief Executive Officer, Darwis Abdul Razak and Secretary-General of the Ministry of Higher Education Tan Sri Dr. Noorul Ainur Mohd Nur
Also present were Minister of Finance II, Dato ‘Seri Johari Abdul Ghani, Higher Education Minister, Dato’ Seri Idris Jusoh, Chinese Ambassador to Malaysia Huang Hui Kang and Treasury Secretary-General Tan Sri Dr Irwan Serigar Abdullah. The MoU is to realize industrial cooperation and academics for the ECRL Industrial Skills Training program that will spark changes and open the minds of East Coasters about the arrival of modern era in their area. The collaboration includes Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP), Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UMT), Universiti Malaysia Kelantan (UMK), Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM), Universiti Tun Hussein Onn (UTHM), Universiti Teknologi Melaka (UTEM) UNIMAP), Universiti Malaysia Kuala Lumpur (UNIKL), GIATMARA & IKBN as well as CIDB as partners and strategic partners of the ECRL Industrial Skills Training program
Meanwhile, MSc Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dato ‘Dr. Mortaza Mohamed said this giant project is a game changer that will open the minds of the East Coast community in particular in Kelantan that the modern era has arrived in the region. He said the community could not imagine how the benefits could be brought to the ECRL project and we are in front of this modern and sophisticated technology that can bring people, goods, and facilities from Bachok to Kuala Lumpur in no time. “In the construction of the ERCL project, MSE will look at logistics matters in the construction of this project, especially the impact to the community and the impact on the mindset and the way the people will see the world. “This will also create new facilities and services as well as job opportunities, especially for our society which is our dream and will. This will indirectly change the way we work and think, “he said.
