Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia Civil Engineering
Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia Civil Engineering, the Dept of Civil & Structural Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia. The department was established in 1985 and offers academic programs for bachelor, masters and doctorate levels in civil, structural and environmental engineering disciplines.
Department of Civil & Structural Engineering is offering five programs at undergraduate level (BEng) and post-graduate level. The programs are:
- Bachelor of Civil & Environmental Engineering program
- Master of Civil Engineering program
- Master of Science (engineering) program
- Doctor of Philosophy program
Both bachelor programs and Master of Civil Engineering are carried out on Outcome Based Education (OBE) pedagogy. Master of Science and Philosophy Doctor programs are research programs.
Selected bachelor students could complete their final two semesters at University of Duisberg Essen (UDE), Germany to get two bachelor degrees, from UKM and from UDE. Besides teaching, our department is putting emphasis on research. Our research has produced many graduates at PhD level, several patented products and publications in respected international journals.

Master of Civil Engineering
Our programme is designed to meet the objectives of producing engineers with a global outlook, sound technical capability, innovative and embrace a life-long learning attitude. The programme offers the four classical fields in civil engineering, i.e. structural engineering & composite construction, sustainable water resources, geotechnical and transportation engineering. Potential students are given choices to enrol in the programme according to their needs, interest and passion.
To be a graduate, a mandatory 45 credit hours of classes must be fulfilled with a CGPA no less than 3.0. You are also expected to complete satisfactorily 12 credit hours of short dissertation.
