UiTM Johor state history JDT in 1983. The first campus in Bukit Siput was officially opened by Dato ‘Abd. Ust bin Ahmad, Minister of Johor at that time. The growing needs of multiple locations UiTM Johor now moved to a larger building and location that is in Segamat Baru in 1985. In 1990, UiTM Johor was grandly at Km12, Jalan Muar-Segamat on land granted by the state government. Here, UiTM Johor has grown to meet the responsibilities of the campus of the State.
Dated July 1, 1975 in history which saw the establishment, in Sura Gate, UiTM Kampus Dungun, Dungun, Terengganu. This campus has 17 acres of land, which was a relic of a leased Iron Ore Company of the State Economic Development Corporation (PERMINT). At that time there were 22 wooden building used as administrative buildings, lecture rooms, library and hostel for students. Some other buildings were the Union Club, Sg Buaya and Sungai Udang converted be as a student dormitories.
Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) started as an operating Hall RIDA Training from November 1956 in Petaling Jaya, Selangor. The training hall was aimed as a trial offer preparation courses for rural youth English stream. RIDA which is an acronym for Rural and Industrial Development Authority, established in 1950 to help upgrade the indigenous economy. Next in 1996, ITM was upgraded to a university. However, the name was not changed until the August 26, 1999, MARA Institute of Technology was officially named Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM).
